Why this industry gains most
Every order is a large capital purchase, buyers research for weeks before calling, and Indian makers compete with imported machines for the same searches.
Your buyersWho searches for you
Searches worth tracking
Machine buyers search by machine type with a size, a capacity or a control system. The dashboard takes its starting list from the machines named on your site, with Google's monthly counts, and accepts any model you add.
- Buyers watch imported machines on video and never see your range.
- Your pages list models without bed size, spindle speed or controller, so they cannot be compared.
- Service and spares searches lead to dealers and forums instead of your support pages.
- AI answers name the brands that publish clear specifications and installation lists.
- A page per machine with working area, capacity, controller and accuracy
- Videos of each machine cutting or forming real parts
- Service network, spares stock and training
- Installations by industry and region
- Finance and delivery terms
What your dashboard shows
- Machine searches: weekly positions for each machine type and size, and whether Google's AI summary includes you.
- Imported rivals: which domestic and imported brands hold the top places for each machine.
- Machine orders: each enquiry tagged with its first source, and the value of every machine sold.
- Pages to build: the machine and size pages worth adding first, ordered by buyer demand.

Questions
Do machine buyers really start on Google?
Most do some research online before calling, even when they later visit a showroom or IMTEX, and being found during that research is what puts you on the shortlist. A CNC, press brake or injection moulding machine is a capital purchase that owners study for weeks.
The market is big enough to reward this. India's machine tools market stood at Rs. 164.70 billion in 2025, according to IBEF. (IBEF, 2026) Indian makers compete with imported machines for the same buyers, and the comparison often starts on Google and YouTube.
How a typical workshop owner researches:
- Searches "vmc machine price in india", "cnc lathe machine manufacturer" or "fiber laser cutting machine" to see who makes what.
- Watches machines cutting real parts on video.
- Asks peers, dealers and increasingly ChatGPT for opinions.
- Visits two or three makers or an exhibition.
- Negotiates with one or two.
If your models are not visible in the first two steps, you are not visited in the fourth. Exhibitions remain powerful, but the buyer who comes to your stall has often already checked your website.
Track the searches that matter for your machines and ask every enquiry how it found you. That shows how much of your pipeline starts online, rather than assuming it all comes from dealers and fairs.
Can we compare ourselves with imported brands?
Yes. The dashboard shows which sites hold the top places for each machine search, including importers and their dealers, so you can see where imported brands beat you and what their pages do that yours do not.
For many searches, such as "fiber laser cutting machine" or "servo injection moulding machine", importers and their dealers dominate page one. That is not because their machines are always better, but because their pages list every specification, show cutting videos, and explain service.
What the comparison typically reveals:
- Specification gaps: imported pages list working area, spindle speed, controller, accuracy and repeatability; Indian pages often do not.
- Video gaps: importers embed videos of real parts; Indian makers post videos on social media but not on product pages.
- Service gaps: importers explain service coverage; Indian makers with better local service do not say so.
- AI gaps: AI answers name the brands that publish clear specifications and installation lists.
Use the comparison to make a fix list, page by page. Then add your own comparison page, fairly written, showing your model against the imported class: specifications, price range, spares cost, service response. Buyers already compare. A clear page lets you make the case. See the live demo for how competitor positions are shown.
How do workshop owners use ChatGPT and YouTube when choosing a CNC or press?
They use YouTube to see machines run and ChatGPT or Gemini to get a list of makers, a rough price range and a comparison, then check the names on Google and with peers. Being present in all three is now part of being shortlisted.
Typical AI questions from workshop owners and production heads:
- "Best VMC machines in India under 30 lakh"
- "Indian vs Taiwanese CNC lathe for small parts"
- "Which fiber laser brand has good service in Rajkot?"
Among US B2B professionals using AI at work, 71% use ChatGPT and 61% use Google Gemini for product research, Semrush found in 2026. (Semrush, 2026) Indian machine buyers, especially second-generation owners, use the same tools.
What helps you show up:
- Machine pages with full specifications in text, so AI tools can quote working area, spindle power and controller.
- Videos embedded on those pages, with cycle times written beside them.
- Service network and installation lists stated plainly.
- Consistent facts on your YouTube channel, LinkedIn, dealer pages and directories.
Ask these questions yourself each week and note who is named. Our article on how to check if ChatGPT recommends your brand gives a simple method.
Should we publish finance, payback and delivery terms online?
Yes, as plain ranges and examples. Machine buyers search for price, payback and finance before calling, and a maker who explains them honestly is trusted more than one who hides everything behind "contact us".
Workshop owners moving to CNC or adding a laser want to know three things early: roughly what it costs, how fast it pays back, and how they can fund it. If your page does not answer, they find a dealer's page that does.
What to publish:
- Price ranges per machine family, with what changes the price: controller brand, working area, automation, tooling.
- Payback examples: for instance, a job shop replacing two manual lathes, with assumptions written out. Make clear it is an example, not a promise.
- Finance options: bank tie-ups, NBFC partners, any government schemes you help buyers access, with a note to check eligibility.
- Delivery terms: typical lead time, installation and training time.
- Warranty and what it covers.
Keep payback examples honest and conservative. A buyer who later finds the example was unrealistic will not trust anything else on your site.
India's manufacturing PMI stood at 55.0 in May 2026 and has stayed above 50 since March 2023, IBEF reports. (IBEF, 2026) Expanding workshops are researching capacity; clear terms help them choose you.
How do we attract dealers to represent our machines?
Publish a dealer page that tells a prospective dealer what they need to decide: territory, margins or terms structure, training, demo machine support and spares backing. Dealers and machine traders search for makers to represent, and most makers give them nothing to read.
Searches like "cnc machine dealership", "laser cutting machine distributor wanted" or "become dealer for injection moulding machines" come from traders with customers and showrooms. AI tools are asked similar questions.
What a dealer page should include:
- Machines available for dealership and target customer types.
- Territories open, by state or region.
- What you provide: training, demo machines, marketing material, lead sharing, spares stock.
- What you expect: showroom, service engineer, minimum sales.
- Current dealer network, to show you are established.
- A dealer enquiry form that asks for region, current brands and customer base.
Do not publish exact margins if you prefer to discuss them, but explain how the arrangement works.
Track dealer searches as a separate group, and tag dealer enquiries in your log so they do not mix with machine enquiries. A single good dealer in a new state can bring many machine orders, so even a few dealer enquiries a year can justify the page.
What does a machine page need for AI tools to describe it accurately?
Full specifications in text, the controller and key components, accuracy figures, a video of real parts, service details and installations. AI tools quote what is written; if your page leaves gaps, they either skip you or fill the gap with a rival.
A strong machine page has:
- Working area or capacity: table size and travels for a VMC, swing and turning length for a lathe, tonnage and bending length for a press brake, clamping force and shot weight for a moulding machine.
- Drive and control: spindle power and speed, controller brand and model, servo or hydraulic.
- Accuracy: positioning accuracy and repeatability, with the standard used.
- Options: tooling, automation, bar feeders, chillers.
- Video: a real part with cycle time.
- Service and spares: locations, response, spares stock.
- Installations: industries and regions.
Accuracy matters here. G2's 2026 research found 64% of B2B software buyers encounter inaccurate AI chatbot recommendations often or very often. (G2, 2026) That study is of software buyers, but the risk is the same for machines: if your page is vague, the AI may state wrong figures about you.
Check monthly what ChatGPT and Gemini say about your machines. If facts are wrong, fix the page that should have stated them.
