For makers of packing, filling, sealing and labelling machines
When a plant needs a packing line, be the maker it finds.
Pouch packers, filling lines, cartoners and labellers are bought after weeks of searching, video watching and comparing three or four makers. Track whether you are on that list on Google and in AI answers.

Who buys packaging machines
How they search
Searches like these come from fmcg and food brands and contract packers.
What buyers check before they call
- Output per minute at each pack size
- Film and pouch types handled (laminate, paper, PE)
- CE marking for machines going abroad
- Contact parts in SS 304 or SS 316 for food lines
- PLC and HMI brands used
- Installation, training and warranty terms
- The buyer watches a rival's demo video on YouTube and never reaches your site.
- Your page lists "packing machine" without pack sizes or speeds, so it cannot be compared.
- Price searches go to marketplace listings, where your machine sits beside ten others.
- After-sales questions (spares, service visits) lead to forums instead of your service page.
- One page per machine type with speed, pack sizes and film types
- A demo video for each machine, filmed running real product
- A spare parts and service page with response times
- A "which machine do I need" guide by product and output
- Customer installations by industry, with photos

Questions
Which searches matter most for packing machine makers?
Searches that pair a machine type with a pack or product usually come from buyers closest to ordering, so track those first and the broad machine names second. "Collar type packing machine for 1 kg sugar" tells you far more about intent than "packing machine".
A practical order of priority:
- Machine plus product or pack: "pouch packing machine for namkeen", "labelling machine for bottles", "vffs packing machine for powder".
- Machine plus buying words: "automatic filling machine price", "cartoning machine manufacturer in india".
- Broad machine names: "band sealer machine", "vffs packing machine". These have volume but many browsers.
- Spares and service for your own models.
Startups moving from manual packing often search with a product and a price word together, while FMCG plant heads search by output per minute and pack type. Contract packers search for changeover and multiple pack sizes.
Common mistake: tracking only "packing machine manufacturer" and celebrating page-two positions on it. That search is dominated by marketplaces and directories, and the buyer who types it is rarely ready.
Start with 20 searches covering your five best machines, check them weekly, and add the exact phrases that appear in your enquiry emails. Buyers often repeat in their email what they typed into Google.
Do demo videos help on Google?
Yes. A working demo on each machine page answers the buyer's main question, "will it handle my product at my speed?", and video results often appear for machine searches on Google. Equipment demonstrations are the number one type of video industrial buyers watch for work, cited by 83 to 90% of buyers in every year Gardner has measured. (Gardner Business Media, 2026)
What makes a packing machine video useful:
- Real product, such as atta, chips, shampoo sachets, not an empty machine cycling.
- Output on screen, for example "62 pouches per minute, 200 g laminate pouch".
- Changeover shown, which is what contract packers want to see.
- Short length: one to three minutes, with a longer installation video separately.
Where to put it matters. A video only on YouTube or Instagram helps rivals' pages too, because the buyer never reaches your site. Embed each video on the matching machine page, write the machine name, pack size and output in the text next to it, and link back to the page from the video description.
Do not rely on the video alone. Google and AI tools read the text on the page, so the specifications must be written out as well. A video without numbers in text is invisible to an AI answer.
Will ChatGPT recommend our pouch packing machines to FMCG buyers?
It can, but only if your website states clearly what each machine packs, at what speed, and for which kinds of brands. AI tools name makers whose pages answer the question asked, such as "Indian VFFS machine for 500 g snack pouches at 60 packs a minute".
Use of these tools is now mainstream among business buyers. Forrester reports that 94% of business buyers use AI in their buying process. (Forrester, 2026) Plant heads at food and FMCG brands often ask AI for a starting list, then check the makers it names.
What raises your chances:
- A page per machine type (VFFS, collar type, premade pouch, multi-head weigher systems) with pack sizes, films handled and output.
- A "which machine do I need" guide by product and output, which matches how first-time buyers phrase questions.
- Installations by industry with photos, so the AI has evidence you supply food brands.
- Matching facts on your IndiaMART listing, LinkedIn page and trade directories.
What lowers them: generic phrases like "high quality packing solutions" with no numbers.
Test it by asking ChatGPT and Gemini five questions a buyer would ask, every week, and noting who is named. Our guide on how to check if ChatGPT recommends your brand shows the method.
Is IndiaMART enough to sell packing and filling machines?
No, not on its own. IndiaMART brings enquiries, but on a marketplace your band sealer or filling machine sits beside many similar listings and buyers sort by price. IndiaMART had 8.8 million supplier storefronts and 218,000 paying suppliers at the end of Q1 FY27, (IndiaMART, 2026) which shows how crowded the shelf is.
A machine is a considered purchase. Before ordering, a plant head wants to see output figures, a running video, installed customers and a service promise. A marketplace listing has little room for that. Your own website does.
How to use both well:
- Marketplace for reach: keep listings current, use the same model names as your site, and link to your site where allowed.
- Website for decision: one page per machine with specifications, video, spares and service details.
- Record the source of every enquiry, so you know which channel brings orders, not just calls.
Many makers find that marketplace enquiries are numerous but price-led, while website enquiries are fewer and convert better. Check this in your own records rather than taking anyone's word for it, including ours. The enquiry log puts both sources side by side with order values.
How can a small packing machine maker get more enquiries in 90 days?
Focus on three or four machines you sell most, make their pages the best in your field, and measure. Packaging has emerged as the fifth largest sector of the Indian economy, (IBEF, 2026) so demand is there; the gap for most small makers is that buyers cannot compare their machines online.
A 90-day plan:
- Weeks 1 to 2: list your top machines and the searches buyers use for each, such as "automatic filling machine price" or "labelling machine for bottles". Check where you stand on Google and in ChatGPT.
- Weeks 3 to 6: rebuild each machine page with output at each pack size, films handled, contact material, PLC brand, warranty and a demo video filmed on real product.
- Weeks 7 to 9: add a spares and service page with response times, and a page of installations by industry.
- Weeks 10 to 13: add a "which machine do I need" guide, and make your marketplace listings match your site.
Reply fast. 53% of industrial buyers who reach out to a vendor want to be contacted within 24 hours. (Gardner Business Media, 2026) A WhatsApp button and a same-day reply rule cost nothing.
Avoid paying for generic blog posts. One strong machine page will usually do more than ten articles about "the importance of packaging".
