Questions

How do fintech companies get named by AI tools?

By publishing clear, specific pages about who the product suits, what it costs, what it integrates with and which approvals it relies on, so AI tools have accurate facts to quote. When a finance head asks "which accounts payable tool works with Tally for a 50-person company", the answer is built from pages that state those facts plainly.

Business buyers lean heavily on these answers. In a 2026 Semrush survey of US B2B professionals who use AI at work, 92% said AI had shaped their vendor shortlist, 45% significantly. (Semrush, 2026) G2's 2026 research found 85% of B2B software buyers think more highly of a vendor when an AI chatbot mentions it in a recommendation. (G2, 2026)

What tends to help:

  • Use-case pages: one per business type or job, such as collections for NBFCs or payouts for marketplaces.
  • Pricing pages with real numbers or a clear pricing model.
  • Integration pages for each accounting, ERP or banking system you connect with.
  • Regulatory pages stating licences, partner banks and data practices accurately.
  • Third-party mentions on review sites, industry publications and partner directories.

Do not expect tricks to work. Google says there is no special schema or AI text file needed for its AI features. (Google Search Central) Live AI Monitoring tracks which use-case questions name you.

Should fintech companies track AI answers as well as Google rankings?

Yes. Many buyers now get a shortlist from an AI tool before visiting any website, so Google rankings alone show only part of the picture. G2's 2026 research found 51% of B2B software buyers start their research with an AI chatbot more often than with Google, up from 29%. (G2, 2026)

Google is still part of the journey. In the 2026 Semrush survey of US B2B professionals, 75% still used Google or other search engines in vendor research, and 41% started with AI and then validated through search. (Semrush, 2026) So a buyer may meet you first in ChatGPT, then check your pricing page through Google.

What to track in each:

  • AI tools: use-case questions ("best payment gateway for subscription businesses in India"), comparison questions ("X vs Y for invoice discounting") and trust questions ("is X RBI authorised").
  • Google: use-case searches, integration searches ("tally integration expense software") and brand searches.
  • Accuracy: whether AI tools state your pricing, features and approvals correctly.

Which AI tools to watch depends on your buyers. The same Semrush survey found 71% use ChatGPT and 61% use Gemini for product research, with Perplexity at 18% and Claude at 14%. (Semrush, 2026)

Live AI Monitoring tracks both views for the same list.

What regulatory details should a fintech company's website show?

The licences, registrations and partner arrangements your product actually relies on, stated precisely so buyers and AI tools can describe you correctly. Vague phrases such as "RBI compliant" without saying how invite doubt.

By type of product:

  • Lending technology and lending service providers: RBI's Digital Lending Directions, 2025, dated 8 May 2025, replaced the 2022 Guidelines on Digital Lending. (RBI Digital Lending Directions, 2025) Lenders' websites must list their lending service providers and digital lending apps and what they are engaged for. (RBI Digital Lending Directions, 2025) Name the regulated lenders you work with, matching their lists.
  • Payments: state your authorisation, or the partner bank or licensed entity through which payments flow.
  • Software only: if you hold no licence because you do not touch funds, say so plainly, and explain who does.
  • Data: where data is stored, who can access it and how it is protected.

The payments market is enormous: NPCI data reported by Outlook Money show 24.07 billion UPI transactions worth Rs 29.37 lakh crore in September 2026 alone. (Outlook Money reporting NPCI, 2026) With so many providers, buyers use regulatory clarity to filter.

AI tools are often asked "is this company regulated". A clear regulatory page is the best source for an accurate answer. Ask your compliance team to approve the wording; this is general information.

Should fintech companies publish comparison pages against competitors?

Yes, if they are fair, accurate and kept up to date, because buyers search for comparisons and AI tools draw on them. Searches such as "[your product] vs [rival]" or "alternative to [rival] for small businesses" come from buyers close to a decision.

How to make comparison pages that help rather than harm:

  • Compare on facts buyers care about: pricing model, settlement times, integrations, support, approvals.
  • Date the page and review it regularly; competitors change pricing often.
  • Acknowledge where a competitor is a better fit.
  • Avoid disparaging language or claims you cannot support.
  • Link to public sources for competitor facts where possible.

There is a reason for care beyond reputation. AI tools already make mistakes about vendors: G2's 2026 research found 64% of B2B software buyers encounter inaccurate AI chatbot recommendations often or very often. (G2, 2026) An inaccurate comparison page can spread errors about you and your rivals.

If your company is also a SEBI-regulated entity, such as a broker or an investment platform, the Common Advertisement Code from early April 2027 bars unfair comparisons and disparaging other regulated entities. (NSE circular on the SEBI Common Advertisement Code, 2026) Check comparison pages with your compliance team.

Track comparison questions in AI tools to see how you are positioned against each rival.

How can a fintech company measure which Google and AI visits became customers?

Record the source at the demo request or sign-up, then follow it through trial, activation and contract value. Analytics tools show visits; they rarely show that a buyer first heard of you in ChatGPT, read your pricing page a week later and booked a demo through a colleague.

A workable approach:

  1. Add a "how did you hear about us?" field to demo and sign-up forms, with AI tools as an option.
  2. Record the use case and company size with each enquiry.
  3. Update at activation and at contract signing, with value.
  4. Review monthly by source and by use case.

Expect AI to show up increasingly. Semrush's 2026 survey found that once AI recommends a vendor, 71% of US B2B buyers go to that vendor's website and 63% look the company up on Google. (Semrush, 2026) Many of those visits arrive as "direct" or "branded search" in analytics.

Also expect long cycles. 6sense found buyers' first contact with sellers now comes 61% of the way through the buying journey. (6sense, 2025) By the time a fintech buyer fills a form, much of their research is done.

WebVisiblity's enquiries and revenue report shows customers and value by source beside your visibility, so you can see whether being named in AI answers led to revenue.
