For makers of ball, gate, globe, butterfly and check valves
Be the valve maker engineers find and specify.
Valves are chosen by type, size, pressure class, material and standard. Engineers and consultants search exactly that way. Track whether your range shows up when they do.

Who buys industrial valves
How they search
Searches like these come from plant and maintenance engineers and epc contractors and consultants.
What buyers check before they call
- Design standards such as API 6D, API 600 or ASME B16.34
- Pressure class and size range
- Body and trim materials
- IBR approval for steam service
- Testing standards such as API 598
- Fire-safe and fugitive-emission certificates where relevant
- Your catalogue is a single PDF, so Google cannot match your pages to specific valve searches.
- Engineers find datasheets from rivals and write those into the specification.
- Approval and certificate searches lead to directories, not to you.
- Replacement searches for your model numbers go to traders.
- A page per valve type with sizes, classes, materials and end connections
- Standards and certificates, each with a downloadable copy
- Datasheets and drawings per model
- Applications: oil and gas, water, steam, chemicals, power
- Vendor approvals and projects supplied

Questions
Should each valve type have its own page?
Yes. Ball, gate, globe, butterfly and check valves are searched separately, usually with a size, class, material or standard, so one page per type with full technical details matches the way engineers search.
A single "products" page or a catalogue PDF cannot rank for "cast steel gate valve", "ss 316 ball valve" and "check valve manufacturer" at once. Each search wants a page that is about that valve.
What each valve type page should cover:
- Size range and pressure classes, for example 1/2 to 12 inch, class 150 to 600.
- Design standard, such as API 6D, API 600, API 608 or ASME B16.34.
- Body and trim materials, with ASTM grades.
- End connections: flanged, butt weld, socket weld, screwed.
- Testing standard, such as API 598.
- Certificates where relevant: IBR, fire-safe, fugitive emission.
- Applications: oil and gas, water, steam, chemicals, power.
- Downloadable datasheet and drawing.
For large ranges, add sub-pages for major variants, such as floating versus trunnion ball valves, or wafer versus lug butterfly valves.
AI tools answer questions like "who makes trunnion ball valves in India up to 24 inch" by reading pages that say exactly that. If your range is only in a PDF, you are invisible to the question.
Which market should a valve maker track?
Track India for domestic projects and add each country you export to, because the same valve search often has different leaders in each market. "API 6D ball valve manufacturer" in Mumbai shows a different first page from the same search in Houston, Dubai or Riyadh.
How to choose:
- India first if most of your orders come from Indian refineries, EPC contractors, water projects and process plants. Add city or state words where service distance matters.
- Export markets where you already have approvals or shipments: the Gulf, Africa, South East Asia, the US or Europe. Overseas buyers often search "valve manufacturer India" or "Indian ball valve supplier".
- One market at a time if resources are thin. A focused list of 15 to 20 searches in two markets is more useful than 100 searches spread thin.
In each market, note who holds the top places. In the Gulf it may be Italian and Chinese makers; in India, large domestic brands and distributors. Your gap to close is different in each.
Engineering is India's largest foreign exchange earner, with around 28% of merchandise exports in FY 2025-26, according to EEPC India. (EEPC India, 2026) Valves are a visible part of that, and buyers abroad compare Indian makers online first.
What do the new Indian Boiler Regulations mean for valve pages that mention IBR approval?
Check and update them. The Indian Boiler Regulations 2026, made under the Boilers Act 2025, were notified on 7 August 2026 and published in the Gazette of India on 1 October 2026, replacing the Indian Boiler Regulations 1950. (King Stubb & Kasiva, 2026) Valve pages that still describe approvals only in terms of the 1950 regulations may now raise questions from careful buyers.
"IBR approved valves" is one of the most specific searches in this field, made by buyers with steam service requirements. They want to see that your approval is real, current and covers the valve type and size they need.
What to do now:
- Ask your inspecting authority how existing approvals and certificates are treated under the new framework, and keep the written answer.
- Update your IBR page to name the current regulations correctly, and show which valve types, sizes and pressure ratings your approval covers.
- Show certificate copies with dates, not only an "IBR approved" badge.
- Add a short, plain explanation of what IBR approval means for a steam valve buyer.
Do not overstate. If an approval is under renewal, say so. An engineer who finds an outdated claim will doubt the rest of your page. Pages that explain compliance clearly are also the ones AI tools quote when asked about IBR valves.
Which certificates should a valve maker show online?
Show every certificate an engineer would check before writing you into a specification, each with its scope and a downloadable copy. Typically that means design and test standards, quality systems, and special-service certificates.
A practical list for an Indian valve maker:
- Design standards you build to, such as API 6D, API 600, API 602, API 608 or ASME B16.34, and any API monogram licence you hold.
- Testing: API 598 or API 6D testing, with in-house test bench capacity.
- Quality system: ISO 9001, and any other quality approval you hold.
- Special service: fire-safe (for example API 607 or API 6FA), fugitive emission (ISO 15848-1 or API 624), NACE for sour service, IBR for steam.
- Export: CE marking under the European pressure equipment rules if you ship to Europe.
- Vendor approvals from major oil, gas, power or water companies.
For each one, state what it covers: which valve types, sizes and classes. "API 6D certified" means little without scope.
Present them on a certificates page and on each relevant product page. Logos alone are not enough for search or AI. Write the certificate name and scope in text so Google and AI tools can read it, and keep expiry dates current.
How do engineers use ChatGPT to find API 6D ball valve makers in India?
They ask it for a list, often with conditions such as size, class, material or approvals, and then check each name on Google and on the makers' websites. If your pages state those facts plainly, you can be named; if they do not, the AI cannot match you.
Typical questions engineers ask:
- "API 6D trunnion ball valve manufacturers in India up to 24 inch class 600"
- "Indian ball valve makers approved by oil companies"
- "Fire safe ball valve suppliers in Gujarat"
What the AI needs from you:
- A page for API 6D ball valves listing size range, classes, bore type, body materials and end connections.
- Your API licence or certificate, with scope, in text.
- Projects or end users supplied, where allowed.
- Consistent facts on your LinkedIn page, directories and exhibition listings.
After AI recommends a vendor, 71% of US B2B buyers visit that vendor's website and 63% search for the company on Google, Semrush found in 2026. (Semrush, 2026) So the AI mention is the start of the check, not the end. Your page has to confirm what the AI said.
