Questions
Can a mid-size pipe maker rank online?
On specific searches with size, class or standard, yes. Big brands dominate general searches like "pvc pipe manufacturer", but searches such as "hdpe pipe pe100 pn10 110 mm", "upvc column pipe" or "cpvc pipes sdr 11" are much more open.
Where a mid-size maker can win:
- Size and class searches: "hdpe pipe 90 mm pn6", "upvc pipe 4 kg/cm2".
- Standard searches: "is 4984 hdpe pipe manufacturer".
- Application searches: "hdpe pipe for drip irrigation", "pipes for borewell".
- Regional searches: "hdpe pipe manufacturer in Rajasthan".
- Fittings: specific fitting types and sizes.
What to publish:
- A page per pipe type with sizes, pressure classes and standards.
- A fittings range page.
- Standards and certifications.
- Projects supplied.
- Dealer and project enquiry forms.
Many mid-size makers show sizes and pressure classes only in brochures. Put them in page text and tables, so Google and AI tools can read them.
Track 20 to 30 specific searches, and judge progress on those first. General searches may stay with big brands for a long time.
Should we have a dealer page?
Yes. Many dealers search for new brands to stock, and a clear dealer page brings them to you. Dealer searches often find other makers when yours has no page.
Dealers and distributors search "pipe dealership", "pvc pipe distributorship", "hdpe pipe dealer wanted" or "become dealer of cpvc pipes". AI tools are asked similar questions.
What a dealer page should include:
- Product range available for dealers.
- Territories open by state or district.
- Support: marketing material, display, schemes, training, credit terms in general.
- Requirements: showroom or godown, investment range, experience.
- Existing network to show you are established.
- A dealer enquiry form asking for location, current brands and business size.
Also list your existing dealers by city, so buyers can find them. That page often ranks for "pipe dealer in [city]" searches and sends buyers to your network.
Track dealer searches separately, and tag dealer enquiries in your log. A single good dealer can bring steady volume for years, so even a few dealer enquiries a year can justify the page.
Should we show IS 4984 and other standards and certifications?
Yes, clearly on each product page, with licence details and certificate copies. Standards and certifications are what engineers, government buyers and careful contractors check first, and pages that do not show them lose those buyers.
What to show:
- Standards each product is made to, such as IS 4984 for HDPE pipes for water supply, and the relevant IS standards for uPVC, CPVC and other pipes.
- BIS licence details where applicable.
- Pressure classes and sizes covered by each standard.
- Other approvals: from water boards, government departments, or international standards for exports.
- Testing: in-house lab tests such as hydrostatic pressure, dimensions and material tests.
- Quality systems: ISO 9001.
Write standards in text, not only as logos, so search engines and AI tools can read them. A contractor asking ChatGPT "BIS certified HDPE pipe makers in Gujarat" can only find you if your page says so.
Keep certificates current. Expired licences shown as valid are easy to check and damage trust.
Government projects often buy through tenders and GeM, where certification is required. GeM's cumulative gross merchandise value has reached Rs 18.4 lakh crore. (News On AIR, 2026)
How do water and infrastructure contractors find HDPE pipe makers?
They search by pipe type, standard, size and application, check certifications and supply capacity, and look for makers who have supplied similar projects. Water supply, irrigation and gas distribution projects are specification-led and often tendered.
Typical searches: "hdpe pipe manufacturer", "is 4984 hdpe pipe", "hdpe pipe for water supply project", "di pipe supplier", "pipe for jal jeevan mission projects".
What contractors check:
- Pipe range: sizes, pressure classes, PE grades.
- Standards and BIS licences.
- Capacity: tonnes per month, ability to supply large orders on schedule.
- Projects supplied: water schemes, irrigation, industrial lines.
- Fittings and jointing: electrofusion, butt fusion, compression fittings.
- Logistics: delivery to project sites, coil lengths.
- Third-party inspection acceptance.
Build project pages with scope, pipe sizes, quantities and client type. A good project page serves both the contractor who is searching and the water board that is checking.
Government and public projects matter here. In FY 2025-26, micro and small enterprises executed 68% of all orders on GeM. (News On AIR, 2026) Keep GeM listings consistent with your website, and track infrastructure searches with your regions.
How do we track which dealer and project enquiries came from search?
Ask every enquiry, including dealer and project leads, how the buyer found you, and record it with the order value. Pipe sales flow through dealers, contractors and projects, so asking is the only way to see what search contributes.
A typical path: a contractor searches "hdpe pipe pn10 manufacturer", reads your page, calls your sales team or visits a dealer. If the dealer places the order, you see a dealer order with no source.
A process that works:
- Project enquiry and dealer forms on your site ask "How did you find us?".
- Sales team asks the same on calls.
- Dealers are asked to note when a customer mentions your website or brand search.
- Record enquiry type (dealer, project, retail), source and order value.
- Review quarterly.
Records will be incomplete at first, but even partial data shows patterns, such as project enquiries mostly coming from Google, or new dealers finding you through AI tools.
The enquiry log in Live AI Monitoring records source and value for each enquiry and produces a monthly report from what you enter, never estimates. Share the findings with dealers too; knowing your brand is searched helps them sell it.
